Tradition begins with a family's handing down of cultural or habitual
teachings throughout it's history. Spaghetti Benders' tradition began in
a much different way. Italian family recipes weren't handed down from
generation to generation. They were conceived and developed right on
this premises. But make no mistake about it... the meatballs, the
sauces, the homemade pastas, the salad dressings and the rest of the
menu was carefully put together and taste tested by 1st, 2nd, and 3rd
generation Italians!
The Spaghetti Bender's idea and name came from Tony DeLoreto. While
driving trucks for long hours throughout the country and seeing all the
fast food restaurants featuring hamburgers, fish, chicken, etc., the
thought was, "Why not pasta?"
In 1991, Tony DeLoreto and Jim Panichelli (PANIC) took the pots and pans
from their homes, a couple of tables and chairs, a used double oven and
little else and began the difficult task of building a reputable
restaurant in Indiana that would embrace tradition.
With a lot of help from our friends and neighboring businesses,
Spaghetti Benders survived the most difficult of times when most
beginning businesses fail.
A commitment to use superior products and to deliver the best possible
product from our stove to your plate is how Spaghetti Benders reputation
has developed a successful tradition.
The Spaghetti Benders staff and owners, Tony and Cherry DeLoreto, sincerely thank you for being a part of this tradition.
